Meet Christi Raak: Leading Expert Behind Our K9 Scent Work Program

Christi Raak brings over a decade of hands-on experience in specialized K9 training, making her one of the most respected and sought-after K9 handlers in the region. Since 2013, she has trained and certified six K9s in critical disciplines such as Human Remains Detection (HRD), Explosives Detection, and Trailing, contributing to over 400 successful search and rescue missions across multiple states.

Certified through renowned organizations like the National Police Canine Association (NPCA) and the American Mantrailing Police & Working Dog Association (AMPWDA), Christi’s expertise spans HRD (land and water), explosives detection, wilderness search, trailing, and more. Her SARTECH II certification and FEMA training highlight her preparedness and commitment to excellence.

As a Master Trainer in HRD, Christi not only led national workshops but also serves as a certifying official, mentoring K9 handlers nationwide. Her experience training working dogs for law enforcement—from narcotics, explosives detection, and to tracking—ensures that every dog and handler in our program receives top-tier instruction. This depth of experience translates seamlessly into scent discrimination and hunting, key components of competitive scent work trials like AKC and NACSW.

Christi’s passion for K9 training is evident in her volunteer work with dog rescues and her continuous education in canine behavior and first aid. Recognized by law enforcement agencies for her outstanding contributions, Christi’s vision is to empower every dog-handler team with the skills, confidence, and bond needed for success.
