DOG 101: The Orientation You and Your Dog Need for Success

Ready to kick off your dog training journey? DOG 101 is our required Orientation class designed to set you and your dog up for success before jumping into any of our five-week programs. In this 90-minute session, we’ll cover everything you need to know about our training philosophy, how to choose the right class, and get you started with some basic techniques to ensure you and your dog are ready for what’s ahead.

During this class, you’ll learn:

How to navigate our spacious, well-equipped training facility

What to expect from our five-week classes and how to make the most of them

How to prevent and manage common behavior problems like jumping and barking (because nobody loves those!)

Essential tips for handling and managing your dog during your first week of class

An introduction to clicker training and how to get started with it

How to teach your dog the “Touch” skill before Week 1—your dog will love it, and you’ll find it incredibly helpful!

We’ll also guide you through selecting the right class for your dog (or confirm that you’ve already chosen wisely). Whether you’re looking to dive into training right away or just want to learn more about our approach, this is the perfect starting point.

Does my dog attend? Please leave your dog at home for this one—we’ll give you all the tips and tricks to get them ready for the first class.

Can I bring family members? Absolutely! We even have a children’s corner with Legos, coloring books, and playdough to keep the little ones entertained.
