Dogtober Fest benefits the Kemper Outdoor Education Center, Lee’s Summit Animal Shelter and Independence Animal Shelter.
Enjoy a 1-mile walk on a lovely park trail, while benefiting the Kemper Outdoor Education Center and local animal shelters
Contests & Games
Contests and games include Bobbing for Biscuits, Sack Races, Roll-Over Races, Biscuit Eating, Musical Frisbees, Biscuit Toss, Costume Contest, Dog/Owner Look-A-Likes, Biggest Dog and Smallest Dog. Fun matches include Obedience, Agility and Rally.
AKC Canine Good Citizen certification testing is available throughout the day.
Competition is offered in Dock Diving and Frisbee Catching. Fun Runs and Show & Go Run-Throughs are offered in Agility, AKC Obedience and Rally.
Workshops will help you and your dog get started in Dock Diving and Agility.
Demonstrations include Police Dogs, Search and Rescue Dogs, Sheep Herding, Draft and Carting, Lure Coursing, Agility and Water Rescue.
Information Booths include Adopt-A-Pet, breed clubs, pet resorts, doggie day care, training clubs, service dogs, groomers, dog bakeries, veterinarians, fencing and a wide-array of dog related products and services.
